My remote won't turn on my 360 anymore.

I press the'Start' button on my gamecontroller andthe 360 won't turn on. The controller's lights just keep flashing on and off and nothing ever happens. Both the 360 and the controller are about 2 weeks old. It used to work:(Does anyone know what is going on? Has anyone ever heard of this before?My remote won't turn on my 360 anymore.
I have now turned the xbox on and off manually about 8 times trying to get the start button to work and it did once. What the hell is going on? It works 1 out of 8 times. It's not like the controller is far away from the 360, maybe 5 feet tops.My remote won't turn on my 360 anymore.
Most likely you just need to resync the controller. With the controller and the 360 on, hold in the little button on the front with this symbol ))) and hold in the one on the top of the controller with the same symbol and then let go and within a few seconds it should be resynched and should work properly again.
