I recently purchased an Xbox 360 Elite as replacement for my Halo 3 Edition 360.I was told by a gamespot employee that if I purchase an Elite as a replacement foran old console that Microsoft will provide me with a data transfer kit for free. Yes, it should be free. There used to be an online form that you could fill out to request one on the Xbox.com website, but it has been taken offline for some reason. You will have to call support. Just be calm with the person helping you on the line. No need to be pissed off going in because you already think that they don't understand you. You will just be making the call frustrating for yourself.
