Does Borderlands End?

I am not close to beating the game but i wanted to know if it was gonna be like Fallout 3 and end then you have to start a new game to play again or does it continue to be free roam?Does Borderlands End?
I'm 8 hours in, and from what I've heard the game s 35+ hours so, I'm guessing it will end soon, but since there are so many items I'm guessing you can keep items obtained from your first playthrough for onlen co-op.Does Borderlands End?

im pretty sure it ends, but more like mass effect rather than fallout three. Meaning it ends but you can use your current char to start another playthrough rather having a whole new char, and im also certain that the enemies scale (whether this is on your level when you actually start [ie. level 30 when you start = the new level 1] the new game or generally in every area is unknown)
Once you kill the last boss, you will be able to choose playthrough 1 or playthrough 2 on your character select screen. You can switch between them whenever you want. Playthrough 2 is 30-50 content.EDIT: You keep all your items+levels when you switch over.

Im only a level 16 right now, but im having a hard time killing enemies that are 1 and 2 levels above me, I dont think I want anything to do with level 30-50 enemies!

You can just keep fighting the end game areas or where ever you want to find loot or finish some side-quests or you can start over again against level 30-50 enemies. After you get to level 50 all the enemies in the game become level 50 enemies so you can just grind anywhere.
