The micro transactions in the game makes me cringe. It isn't confirmed yet, so I hope they ditch that awful idea.Goodbye, Fable III.....
Let me guess...because of Natal.
Let me ask you this. Do you honestly think that the entire game is going to be controlled by Natal? That the controller is a thing of the past? Are you imagining that to play Fable III, you're going to have to walk around your living room and make slashing motions to swing your weapons?
Or is it because of the microtransactions?

I dont have a problem w/ microtransaction as long as it's not the only way to get good (or any)weapons. I assume they intend it for exclusive weapons, so all in all **** YOU LIONHEAD!

Microtransactions aren't a new thing. How would you feel of the game cost $30 or $40, but they had microtransactions? For instance, there are some MMORPG's that are free to play but in order to get some of the really cool upgrades and weapons, you have to pay for them through microtransactions. This is a very popular model in Korea.

I was imagining that maybe they would make it for both. and I feel that making games like these for natal is an awful idea.....

It's an interesting idea but not what I come to expect from console games, especially Fable. I don't mind DLC expansions but the thought of paying real money for a sword or a rare tattoo card is not a good idea. I'd rather explore the game or shoot 50 gargoyles to get that rare item.

Its probably the microtransactions.. and its complete bs. Buying weaponry or items with cash defeats the whole purpose of earning them in game, especially if they will be better than what you will get in game, but thats unknown as of now, here's hoping it will only be cosmetic, and perhaps only available after certain points in the game. Starting off with the ultimate weapon would be retarded.
The natal support shouldn't be used for more than a few interactions like the expression system (though some of these would be awkward to act out lol) or puzzle solving, I actually doubt itll be used in combat at all... unless there is an option to swap between natal combat or traditional controller combat, because the whole swinging a plastic sword around would be really dumb for hours on end.. as you pointed out yourself.
This is B*** **** I am NOT buying Natal for this! Hopefully you won't have to use Natal to play, but is instead, and option. lionhead=:'(

Well, the reason I ask that question about Natal is because I seem to be one of the few people on this forum that defends the use of Natal. Not because I think it will completely replace the controller for more traditional games like RPGs and FPS's. I DON'T believe that at all. While there will be some niche games out there that totally utilize it like that dodgeball game, as far as traditional games, I believe that any integration of Natal will be purely as an OPTIONAL ENHANCEMENT.
Anyone who has seen me in this forum has probably seen me rant on about this.
For instance, let's say you have 6 or 7 spells. To cast them, maybe you have a different hand motion for each. Or in an FPS with squad commands like in Rainbow Six, let's say you want to hold up your squad. You give them the military hand signal to halt. Just some examples. And again...OPTIONAL. I just don't believe that we are going to be running around our living rooms or running in place to play our more traditional games. Game developers themselves comment on how it just wouldn't work for some games.
I'm just saying, don't be so quick to dismiss anything to do with Natal until we see more of how it will be utilized. Because it's not going to completely replace our controllers.
Depends how they pull it off. Tiger Woods 09 had them... most people didn't notice because you could still get ALL the items in the game without it. As long as they follow this model I could care less if games have microtransactions in them. 1. It helps the slow kids. 2. It helps the developers if someone actually uses it. Which means they can keep making more games at the expense of #1. When it becomes unprofitable they can stop... or if they force you to use them to play the game, because then I'll stop.
I really hope they don't have microtransactions. I think it would really spoil the game.

I'm actually looking forward to see how they implement Natal into Fable 3.

I like how the Tiger Woods games use microtrasactions. It allows people like me who don't have all the time in the world to devote to one game a way to access certain content. Let's say there's a special driver that I need $200,000 in game dollars to buy. Or maybe you need to win so many tournaments in order to unlock the right to buy it. A microtransaction is an alternative to that. Now those hard core grinders like to criticize guys like me. ''You didn't put the time in. Waah Waah, blah blah blah.'' Well, I have a job. I have a social life. I have other games to play. I want to be able to use that cool Nike driver too or unlock that final golf course without having to put in 10 hours. With microtransactions, I have that option. Again, it's an OPTION.
I think this is going to be a way to just buy the DLC in-game, and not having to go out on to the dashboard and go through the menus.
I'll still be getting it, without Natal though.
I think Natal might make all the mini games more interesting. When you are starting off in Fable II getting money really depends on the mini games for the jobs which get very repative very quickly.
Natal might make them more interesting and give them a bit more variety. Then again you also might end up waving and thrusting at the screen and not getting anywhere like you do with some of the Wii games.
Of course this is if they decide to integrate Natal with Fable III at all,
selling out.
I still have yet to finish Fable 2, and was thinking of Fable 3 later, but no more.I dont care one bit about Natal. I would pick a regular controller over having to stand up and move around anyday. All the focus on graphics this gen takes enough away from the length of the game as it is. Focusing on graphics and motion controls, where is the room for any quality story at all? Most any game that uses RMT I would not buy just on principle. if im forking over all this money I expect the full game when i buy the disc. Add on extras are one thing, but when you are being nickle and dimed for almost everything little thing, hell no.
Don't you think because Natal is controlled by your body that they would have at least a controller to go with it? if not, they would make a 360 version.Seriously, whats wrong with Natal? looks like a great project
