Buying 360. Do I need hard drive?

Should I just buy the Arcade model? Reason being .. I'm not going to be playing online. Just at home by myself or with friends. How much will the memory cards hold? If I buy Madden and Gears of War, will I still have plenty of space or no? Buying 360. Do I need hard drive?
Even if you are not going to be playing online i HIGHLY recommend getting a hard drive because at some point in time you will probably decide to get XBL and if not, games still take up a reasonable amount of storage space, a typical memory card can only fit about 5 or 6 reasonably sized games with multiple game save files for them. Also the arcade comes across as a little cheap, due to the fact that it dosent even have a CD draw or a wireless controller, you should just go atleast 1 step up to the normal 360.Buying 360. You won't need it but you may wind up wanting one. For Forza 3 you will def. want a harddrive, I think you have to have the drive to get the content on the 2nd Forza 3 disc. Take into account the price of the harddrive by itself, and one which comes with the system, if you don't ebay you'll be paying around $100 for a 20gig drive.
BTW the memory cards are 256MB in size, which means ultimately if you wanted to, you couldnt even get 1/4 of a normal game addon which is roughly 1gb in size, and the Xbox 360 Pro is only $50 more than the arcade and you are getting ALOT more stuff and alot higher quality than the arcade version. IMO go pro
I think the arcade is good if you are not going to play online. Game saves are small and the memory card in the arcade will hold a good amount. It when you install games, download arcade games, demos, and videos you will need a harddrive. Also, it does come with a wireless controller.
If you have no interest in playing online, downloading games or expansions, or downloading demos, then you probably don't need a hard drive. Personally, I coudn't live without one.

I'm not positive, but I think the arcade does come with a wireless controller.
Yes you need a harddrive.

While technically it isn't really required to play most games, just for ease, convenience and practicality you need a harddrive. Even a 20GB will be sufficient, but since the price of the Elite has dropped, and the Pro model retired, the Elite really is the way to go.

Once you get into Xbox Live you will want to be downloading demos, videos, extra content for your games, and all of that requires a harddrive. In previous generations you might have got away with small memory cards, but now even arcade games are taking up to a GB each (such as south park tower defence game).
No you don't, if you wanna miss out on the all great DLC on the marketplaces, like Fallout 3 broken steel and episodes from liberty city.
Im not positive if the Arcade comes with a wireless controller, however i do know that the previous model came with a wired controller.
Techinically no you don't need one, but really yeah you should get one. A memory card will be enough for your game saves, but if you want anything else you'll need the HDD. Between DLC, demos, videos, XBLA games, installing games, etc. the additional space is really needed.
get hard drive. 500mb will never be enough.if you buy anygames that come with extra stuff they are placed on second disc and needs to be instaled. most game of the year games with stuff needsed be installed. also installing the games to hard drive stoping it fromn spinings always will also help the 360and why wont you be playing online? seems like you have internet so whats the deal unless you a friends house atm

whats a cd draw? like no joke are you saying you cant put a cd in it lol. the xbox is 100% the same to all the xboxs. the bundle what comes with the system is what makes the difference. Second the arcade dose come with a wireless this has been changed for about year now.
If you can find the 60gb Pro, get it. A 60gb hard drive is $100, and the Pro is the only one that comes with HD cables.
u dont NEED itbut i cant think of a single reason not to get one
installed games load less ( i read that )
