dead rising or left 4 dead?

I'm in the mood for a good zombie game for some reason. I've played neither. Which do you recommend? I dont know if i want to go the coop route or single player. Dead Rising kind of interests me because it is single player and i wont have to deal with bs on live, but it's such an old game. Does it still stack up?dead rising or left 4 dead?

They're two entirely different games and it all comes down to personal preference. I totally disagree with the above post. While Dead Rising has been criticized for it's save system, Left 4 Dead's friendly AI can be just as irritating if you're planning on playing it by yourself. Dead Rising has better replay value IMO and if you're able to manage your time efficiently, it's save system shouldn't deter you.
It all come down to personal preference because L4D's strength is in it's multiplayer option while DR is centered around it's single-player storymode.Me personally I love L4D,it's the only real reason I went gold with my membership this year.

i have dead rising and didnt care for it at all. you were always under the gun time wise so you had very little chance to actually have fun. if you missed an event for being seconds late its game over. it really got annoying the more i played. l4d is good but only really iin multiplayer. offline its very short and you have to deal with the ai. its a tough zombie smashing call.

I find L4D only fun in small doses and when playing in the same room with a friend, thats alot of requirements to have fun. Dead Rising I found to be a blast all the time and it wasn't just a shooting gallery like L4D.
I prefer L4D.
i've only played the L4D demo, and have fully completed Dead Rising, so my opinion is completely biased. But, if you still want it, i'd say get Dead Rising. its my favorite IP on the 360 and is in my top 5 favorite games of all time. L4D is a different experience that revolves around its FPS'ness, whereas DR is a third person game that is a blast to screw around in.but since you can pick up DR for about 18 bucks used nowadays, i'd say just buy both because from what i've heard, L4D is a fantastic game too
My first 2 games i got were l4d and dead rising, in my opinion and im not the only one with it these 2 games are both revolutionary and cannot be judged over each other and can't wait for either sequel.
L4D is fun if you have a people to play it with. By yourself it's alright, but very short. Dead Rising is better for SP. It's definitely a unique experience.
