Is anyone buying Natal? I'm not.

Do any of you think that the upcoming Natal device would triumph? I don't think I'll be buying one. Personally, I blame the Wii for that, do to their success %26 that Microsoft's next X-Box console might just be a minimal upgrade in the graphics department %26 that the X-Box 360 would turn into the Wii if it succeeds. *Shudders*

I just hope that isn't the case for that.Is anyone buying Natal? I'm not.
Are you under the impression that all games moving forward will use Natal and that it will completely replace the controller? And that we have to run around our living rooms or run in place and point our fingers like guns to play FPS's?Is anyone buying Natal? I'm not.
I'm getting it.
No i'm not getting it i'd rather use my controller.
Do you guys realize that for the traditional games will likely only use it as and OPTIONAL ENHANCEMENT?

All of you guys who are so against Natal...Is this what you think? ^^^
I do not have any interest in it at all. I'm going to pass as I prefer to use a controller.

Is this how you envisioned Natal? Or are you thinking that the controller will be totally and completely replaced?
I need to see the support developers will give it before I consider buying it.

I agree with you there. I just want to hear back from everyone so against it. They all say the same thing. I'd rather use my controller. And I understand that, but I just hope those people understand that it's not an absolute replacement. We won't be required to use it.

Natal Not A Good Fit For Gears Of War, Cliff Bleszinski Says

From the article...

Count Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski among those who don't believe that Microsoft's Project Natal will replace ''traditional'' gaming. On Major Nelson's podcast, he briefly discussed the peripherals potential relationship to the Gears of War franchise, and its future in gaming.

''If there's any future Gears products [exaggerated cough], it's not the kind of thing you tag onto a game like that, right?'' Bleszinski said.

''I'm a fan of... the whole system works amazingly well, they brought it out a few weeks before E3 to give us a peek at it. The driving, you just put your hands forward and steer, and it's... I don't feel any lag with it, it's incredibly crisp and accurate.''

But will it completely replace the way we currently play video games? He doesn't think so.

''Will it replace traditional gaming? No, but it's another amazing way that we can expand the gaming experience to a wider audience and enhance what's already there.''
I'm going to try and buy it on Day 1.
xbox is not turning into a wii if it succeeds. most of money Microsoft gets comes from hard core gamers not casule gamers like wii. but microsoft wants tpo be a all round system for everyone. i think i rather buy natal then a wii. because i like the no controller feeling then swinging a controller around like the wii
Natal is not going to ''Replace'' the standard controller. It's an add-on (for the 360, it's not an entirely new console... I believe the quote about the ''new xbox coming out next year'' that caused so much confusion was actually referring to a new model of 360 that will have Natal included on the system itself) that will enhance some games, and I'm sure there will be games that will only use it. That doesn't mean all games will only use that device. There's also no reason to believe that when the Xbox720 (or whatever it will be called) comes out it won't have enhanced graphics and will only change the controls.I'm personally finding this extremely entertaining. We're seeing all these Microsoft fanboys that have spent the last couple years calling the Wii ''Kiddie'' and ''Gimmicky'' getting all upset because Microsoft is now doing something similar. It seems like a lot of people don't want to give it a chance because if they actually end up liking it after being so hardcore about bashing what Nintendo is doing, it will somehow make that person a hypocrite. So they're already against it and are ready to hate it without even giving it a chance. It's called progress, kids... the thing might totally suck, but it could be a lot of fun. Anything that advances or enhances gaming and moves the technology forward is a GOOD thing. Why don't we just keep an open mind about this and see how it plays out instead of immediately hating it because you've spent so much time bashing Wii and convincing yourself that motion control is a stupid gimmick for little kids? Fun is fun... and enjoying something like this doesn't make you less mature, or less ''hardcore'' or less ''cool''. In fact, condemning something without giving it a chance because it's somehow beneath your maturity level seems a bit, well, immature in itself.Personally, I'll wait and see how it all works out and how the games integrate it. I think it has a lot of potential to be a really exciting device if it's done right. And, again, it's not threatening coventional gaming controls... they're not trying to ''replace'' the standard controller, just adding something more to gaming. There's a place for all that stuff. I have a Wii, I enjoy the motion controls and when implemented well it can really add a lot to the game. But that doesn't mean that I gave up on conventional controllers and never looked back. Quite the contrary, I play the 360 much more than the Wii. You can enjoy traditional and progressive gaming controls, it's not a choice you're forced to make.
Natal looks like it could be fun but I need to see the quality of the games, how they will use Natal, and of course how much I will personally enjoy using it. I doubt I will buy a ton of games for Natal because by the time I can play games I'm tired and just want to lay back on the couch. It will more than likely be something I use a lot on the weekend or whenever I'm not too tired. I'm actually excited to see what developers do as I want something creative and fun to play.
Hooray decepticondevil!!! Someone who gets it!!!
Hooray decepticondevil!!! Someone who gets it!!!
Hah thanks. Unfortunately I've found that most thought-out, informative posts on these forums end up being tl;dr for the short attention-span crowd that frequent them. This, I believe, is precisely why there are so many misinformed and confused gamers about subjects such as these. People are all too ready to start complaining that ''Microsoft is turning the 360 into the Wii!!!!'' or ''Did you hear? The 360 is going to be obselete in six months!! My friend told me so!!'' without actually taking five minutes to do a bit of research and find out the facts first. *shrugs*
Im gonna keep the controller the natal doesnt interest me
Im gonna keep the controller the natal doesnt interest me
....and there's my point proven. :PAgain, you CAN have both! Getting Natal doesn't mean you can't use the controller anymore. It's NOT a replacement, it's an enhancement.

I absolutely agree with you. I've ranted on so many times in this forum and others about Natal in particular. And whenever I do, I never get responses from the people who just blow it off. But it amazes me how much people are misinformed on this and other subjects. The info is out there. I wish more people would just listen to what the Devs actually talk about in their interviews rather than thinking they're just out to screw you out of some money. That's info straight out of the horse's mouth.

For instance, I always try to defend Assassin's Creed 2. The misinformed say it sucks and is repetative because they felt that way about the first one. All the while, the Devs are out there talking about how they listened to gamer feedback and have greatly improved the variety of gameplay and all of the potentially cool things you can do in the game. That along with videos actually showing this stuff off and even positive previews from critcs who have already gotten their hands on it. But still, we get people here every day still condemning the game.

i was 100% agist the wii when ti came out and for like year. Then i started going to this youth group and they had omost every system.(no joke xbox, xbox 360, ps2 ps3, gamecube, dreamcast, wii) they had it all. i gave the wii a shot and found it actually fun. now every time i go i always play the wii sinc ei dont have one my self. what i find kiddy about the WII is just the games on it but the motion controls no. it is great for casual gaming. controller is great for hardcore gaming.

i will be buying natal when i see tfew things. There are three deciding factors for me and i think this goes for everyone also. 1: performance this is the most important in all. i will be looking at how well the camera picks things up. 2: Games is the second because whats the point having something but no games you like. 3: deadly move can hurt or make natal PRICING.
