I guess I never really though about this until now.http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-3667-Gearbox--Easy-Achievements-Means-Extra-Sales.htmlEasy achievements means extra sales for ...
It makes sense, I mean when I cared about getting gamerscore, hard achievements really turned me off of buying a game.
Now I could care lessEasy achievements means extra sales for ...
I find it somewhat pathetic that a score that's just for show and gives you no advantages actually help sell games. I barley ever play games for achievements except when I'm trying to find something to do in a game I don't want to end. Can't imagine buying a game for achievements although everyone has different tastes, to each his own I suppose.
When I have had access to free games, I have enjoyed accruing Gamerscore. When it comes to spending my money, thought, I buy games I am sure to like and achieve at my leisure.
Its sad but true, I like achievements but I have a friend that takes it to far.He literally only buys games, no matter how bad just for achievements.
I won't buy a game for points, but I'll keep replaying a game longer than I normally would If there are hard achievements with actual worthwhile point values, like 75 points for doing something that takes a long time compared to 10.
All I think when I see someone with 100k gamerscore or something ridiculous like that is ''Wow, you have no life.'' I cant even fathom the reason as to why some people obsess over gamerscore... Its not impressive in any way. And I highly doubt its because all those games were enjoyable.
It's usually just the game that makes me want to buy it not the achievement list.. however if I were to look at the list, I would want a set of achievements that provided me with a fun time earning them. I don't want them to be impossible to get (obviously) but also I don't want achievements that add no replay value to the game. I want a good in-between point.
C: I wouldn't waste money on a game that I didn't like for any reason especially, for gamerscore.
